TM 9-2320-289-20 6-4. REAR PROPELLER SHAFT ASSEMBLY REPLACEMENT. This task covers: a. Removal b. Installation INITIAL SETUP: Tools/Test Equipment • Torque wrench 1. Remove 4 bolts (7) and 2 straps (6). 2. Slide rear propeller shaft (3) forward to disengage from axle flange (5). 3. Slide rear propeller shaft (3) rearward to disengage from transfer case propeller shaft. (1). Remove rear b. INSTALLATION 1. Slide rear propeller shaft yoke (2) into transfer case (1). 2. Position 2 clamps (6) on universal joint (4) and install rear propeller shaft (3) on axle flange (5) with 4 bolts (7). Tighten bolts to 25-30 Ib.-ft. (34-41 Nom). TA49647 6-9
