10-16. ENDGATE REPLACEMENT (M1008 AND M1008A1).

NOTE
If removing endgate (10), perform steps 1 and 2.

If removing plates (1), perform steps
If removing latch assemblies (9) and
steps 1 and 7 through 14.
Lower endgate (10) and pull up on 2 plates (1).

Lift right bushing (11) out of right trunnion (16).
and remove endgate (10).

handle assembly (13), perform
Raise endgate partway and disconnect plates
Lift left bushing (11) out of left trunnion (16)
Remove 4 bolts (17) and remove 2 trunnions (16).
Remove 4 bolts (2) and remove 2 plates (1).
Remove 4 screws (4) and 4 bumpers (3 and 5).
Remove 4 bolts (15) and remove 2 bushings (11).
Remove 3 bolts (6) and loosen handle assembly (13).
Disconnect right rod (7) from clip (12) at handle assembly (13).
Remove 2 bolts (14) at left latch assembly (9). Disconnect rod (7) and remove left latch
assembly.
Remove handle assembly (13) and left rod (7).
Disconnect left rod (7) from clip (12) at handle assembly (13).
Remove 2 bolts (14) and remove right latch assembly (9) and rod (7).
Remove rod (7) from right latch assembly (9).
Remove 2 insulators (8) from 2 rods (7).
