4 .
Install steering column upper bearing
(17) into directional signal housing
(18). Install bushing (16) and retainer
(15) on bottom hub of directional
signal housing.
5 .
Install new seal (7) and install shift
tube and lever assembly into steering
column (9).
NOTE
If gearshift housing bearing (34) is
not correctly installed, it will not
rest on all stops provided.
6 .
Insert gearshift housing bearing (34)
into end of steering column (9) and
aline indentations in gearshift housing
bearing with projections on steering
column. Ensure that gearshift housing
bearing is fully seated.
