TM 9-2320-289-208-10.CONNECTING ROD REPLACEMENT (Con’t).b.INSTALLATION 1.Screw connecting rod sockets (5 and 8) onto sleeve (7) if removed. Tighten 2 nuts (3) to40 Ib.-ft. (54 N•m).NOTEEnsure that shorter connecting rod socket (8) is installed on pitman arm(9).2Install 2 grease fittings (4) if removed. Position connecting rod socket (8) on pitman arm (9)and connecting rod socket (5) on steering arm (6), and install 2 nuts (1). Tighten nuts to70 Ib.-ft. (95 N•m). Advance nuts as required to aline cotter pin (2) holes. Install 2 new cotterpins.FOLLOW-ON TASKS:• Lubricate connecting rod sockets. (See LO 9-2320-289-12)8-21
