Inspect thrust washer (3), bearing washer (4.1), spring and retainer assembly (10), and snapring (9)
for distortion or damage. Replace any if distorted or damaged.
3.
Inspect forward clutch hub (4) and direct clutch hub (2) for damage. Replace either if damaged.
4.
Inspect piston (11) for distortion or damage. Replace if distorted or damaged.
5.
Inspect spring and retainer assembly (10) for collapsed coils or distortion. Replace if distorted or
damaged.
6.
Inspect clutch housing (7) for damage. Replace if damaged.
7.
Check for freeness of check ball (15) in clutch housing (7), and that all oil passages are open. Replace
forward clutch assembly if check ball (15) is not free or if oil passages are blocked.
