R E M O V A L NOTE• If removing hub (8), drum (9), and wheel bearings (15 or 17) from allexcept M1009, perform steps 1 and 2 as required.• If removing drum (1) from M1009, perform steps 1 and 3.• It may be necessary to knock out lanced area (5) in backing plate (12)or drum (1), or remove covers to gain access to adjusting screw(3 or 13).1.Insert a screwdriver through accesshole (5) in backing plate (12) or drum(1). Loosen adjusting screw (3 or 13)until no drag is felt on drum.2.Remove retainer (6), key (7),adjusting nut (18) from spindleR e m o v e h u b ( 8 ) a n d d r umassembly from spindle (11).
