TM 9-2320-289-207-6.SERVICE BRAKE SYSTEM BLEEDING INSTRUCTIONS (Con’t).3.4.5.6.7.8.9.NOTEIf only front or rear half of system has been serviced, it is usuallynecessary to bleed oniy that haif of system; however, if firm brakingaction cannot be obtained after bleeding, it will be necessary to bleedentire system.PRESSURE BLEEDING procedures cover bleeding at one wheel, Repeatsteps for each wheel ‘and bleed brakes in the following order: rightrear, left rear, right front, left front.Remove master cylinder cover (3).install pressure bleeding adapter onmaster cylinder, and connect hose toadapter and pressure bleeding tank.Open pressure bleeding tank valve.If bleeding rear brake line, removecap (10) from wheel cylinder bleedervalve (9) on backing piate (8). ifbleeding front brake line, remove cap(7) from bleeder valve (6) on caliper(5) .Connect a short piece of hose tobleeder valve (6 or 9) and immerseother end of hose in containerpartially full of clean brake fluid.Open bleeder valve (6 or 9) ¾ turnand observe brake fIuid. Close valvewhen brake fluid flows free ofhubbies.Tighten bleeder valve (6 or 9),remove hose,andinstallcap(7 or 10).NOTEDO NOT continue with step 8 untilall bleeding has been completed.Close bleeding tank valve, disconnecthose, and remove pressure bleedingadapter. Install master cylinder cover(3). Repressurize pressure bleedingtank.Loosen mounting bolt and removecombination valve depressor (1) fromcombinationvalve (2). Tightenmounting bolt.TA496627-11
