DO NOT perform this procedure near fire, flames,or sparks. A fire extinguisher must be on hand in work area. Failure to followthis warning may result in serious injury or death.Disconnect both battery negative cables. (See paragraph 4-38)Place suitable container under fuel filter drain hose (16).Remove fuel tank cap to release pressure in fuel tank.Remove vent plug (5), loosen drainplug (17), and allow all fuel to drain from fuel filter assembly(1). Remove drainplug, and 2 seals (4). Discard seals.Disengage 2 filter clamps (7) and remove fuel filter assembly (1).Remove clamp (13), fuel filter inlet hose (12), clamp (15), and fuel filter outlet hose (14).Remove 3 bolts (10), washers (9), and filter mounting bracket (8).Remove 4 screws (11) and base assembly (2) from filter mounting bracket (8).Remove 3 switches (6) from base assembly (2), as required.b.
