2. Determine proper rear shim pack
setting pinion depth as follows:

gear end of new drive pinion (5)
and locate it in New P i n i o n

Find point where 2 columns
intersect
to
determine
adjustment number for new rear
shim pack.
NOTE
A + means add that amount; a - means subtract that amount; and O
means no change.
3. Add or subtract adjustment number found on Table 6-4.1 to old rear shim pack (9 and 12) to
determine new rear shim pack.
