Remove 2 nuts (3) and connectingrod bearing cap (4) . Measureflattened gaging plastic (10) at widestpoint to determine connecting rodbearing clearance. Clearance shouldbe0.0017-0.0039 in.(0.04318-0.09906 mm).Discardgagingplastic,8. If clearance in step 7 is not correct,useundersizedconnectingrodbearing and repeat steps 5-7.
