10. MODIFICATION PROCEDURES.
a. Preliminary Procedures:
(1) Truck parked, engine off, parking brake set.
(2) Remove driver's and companion seat assemblies. (refer to TM 9-2320-242-20-3-2)
(3) Remove console. (refer to TM 9-2320-242-20-3-2).
WARNING
Transmission cover is made of fiberglass. Make certain area is well-ventilated. A
mask is to be worn while cutting the transmission cover.
b. Modification Procedures:
(1) Surface preparation.
(a) Remove plate from floor on right side of vehicle (passenger's side).
(b) Lay floorplate and transmission cover on a flat surface.
(c) Locate and measure the area on the right and left side of console which is to be notched.
(d) Using a scribe and a ruler, mark the console on the right (passenger) side. (figure 1).
(e) Locate, measure and mark the area on the floorplate which is to be modified. (figure 2).
