Always wear gogglesand rubber gloves when performing battery checks or inspections.Serious injury to personnel will result if battery acid contacts skin oreyes.DO NOT perform battery system checks or inspections while smokingor near fire, flames, or sparks. Batteries may explode, causing seriousinjury or death to personnel.Rotate covers to underside of clamps as each cable is disconnected.Remove all jewelry such as dog tags, rings, bracelets, etc. If jewelry ordisconnected battery ground cable contacts battery terminal, a directshort will result.
