InspectionINITIAL SETUP:Equipment ConditionTools/Test EquipmentBoth battery negative cables disconnected.Torque wrench(See paragraph 4-38)a.REMOVALNOTEIf removing glow plug switch (4), perform steps 1 and 2.If removing glow plug (1), perform step 3.1.At top rear of left cylinder head,2.Remove glow plug switch (4).damaged.Notify supervisor if glowdisconnect connector wire (3) from glow plug switch (4).Remove bushing (5). Discard bushing if threads appearNOTEplug (1) does not come out in one piece.Removal of glow plug fragments is not authorized at this maintenancelevel.3.Disconnect glow plug connector wire (2) from each glow plug (1) to be removed. Removeglow plug.b.INSPECTION1.Inspect glow plug (1) threads to ensure that they are not stripped. If glow plug threads arestripped, notify your supervisor.c.INSTALLATIONIfIfNOTEinstalling glow plug (1), perform steps 1 and 2.installing glow plug switch (4), perform steps 3 and 4.1.Install each removed glow plug (1). Tighten to 10 Ib.-ft. (14 N•m).2.Install glow plug connector wire (2) to each glow plug (1).3.Install new bushing (5) if required.3-60
